Kryvtsov: The first task is to qualify from the group, but we understand how serious our opponents are, and we will fight in every match

The Pitmen’s rivals in the Champions League group are Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Celtic

Miner’s Defender Sergey Krivtsov commented on the results of the Champions League group stage draw.

“This is the Champions League and all the opponents are strong here. I think the draw is good for us. We have some kind of three-year cycles, first there was Manchester City, and now Real Madrid. We look forward to these matches.”

“We spoke with Taras Stepanenko. He wanted to compete with Liverpool, but I reminded that at the Celtic stadium they also sing You will never walk alone. So let’s hear it with our own ears. The first task is to qualify from the group, but we understand what serious opponents we have and we will fight in every match.”

Recall that in the group stage of the Champions League of the 2022/2023 season, Shakhtar got into the same quartet with Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Celtic.

Shakhtar is the only representative of Ukraine in the current Champions League group stage. The Pitmen’s home matches in the European Cup will be held in Warsaw at the Polish Army Stadium.

The opening matches of the first round of the Champions League will take place on September 6-7.
