Pitmen’s victory on Donetsk Day
Donetsk Shakhtar won the first victory in the new football championship of Ukraine on the Day of the City of Donetsk. After a goalless draw with Metallist 1925, the miners beat Kryvbas from Kryvyi Rih with great difficulty. The Orange-and-Blacks scored the only goal at the end of the home game.
Igor Jovicevich made one change in the starting lineup compared to the first round. The disappointing Jurasek was replaced by Bondarenko. Looking ahead, let’s say that it was Artem Bondarenko who decided the outcome of this fight.
The first half was played in an absolutely equal fight. Wards of Yuriy Vernidub, who was watching the game from the NSC Olimpiyskiy stand, were in no way inferior to the Donetsk team.
On the attack of the miners, the guests answered with their own. Goalkeepers – Trubin and Sarnavsky practically did not come into play. It was clear that the team that scored the first goal would win.
The Pitmen used Mudrik’s speed more often, and therefore the game went, most often, through the left flank of the hosts’ attack.
It was clear that, so far, Sikan is not built into the team game. There is absolutely no one to close the crosses and feeds. And this is a problem for Shakhtar. No one knows when Traore will appear on the field.
And then, out of the blue, Viktor Kornienko broke down. He fell on the field without assistance and screamed at the whole stadium.
Understandably, the pain was deafening. Kornienko’s preliminary diagnosis is ligament rupture. And three minutes later the guests were in the minority – Nikita Tatarkov received two yellow cards and went to rest.
It took the Donetsk team exactly three minutes to realize their numerical superiority. Mudryk crossed from a free-kick and Artem Bondarenko, who jumped the highest, headed the ball – the ball flew over Sarnavsky’s hands.
The Krivorozhans did not have enough strength to win back. The championship of Ukraine is gradually rolled into the season. And for this it is worth saying thanks to our soldiers!
