Lucescu said that if Yaremchuk played in Dynamo, he would be the best player. So why isn’t he here if Shakhtar brought back their Zubkov, Petryak, Totovitsky?

Of course, yes, yes, yes, Roman is better off moving to Brugge, living in Western Europe and playing in the Champions League. We are now more about the vector of work of our grantees

Roman Yaremchuk is the most expensive acquisition in the history of Bruges. And in Benfica he was a substitute and somewhere third or fourth in the table of ranks of the attacking Portuguese “eagles” – even after the sale of Darwin Nunez. But we can only lick our lips at a player of this level – modern Ukrainian football has nothing to offer players of the age, status and price of Romario Yaremchuk.

“If he played in Dynamo, he would be the best player, but in Benfica he sits as a substitute. That’s the difference.”– Mircea Lucescu summed up gloomily after the Lisbon massacre.

And he is, of course, correct in his statement.

But, you see, questions about the very vector of transfer work remain. Shakhtar are also having hard times, however, Zubkov, Petryak, Lucas Taylor and Shved have already returned to the Premier League. Dynamo, on the other hand, is forced to be “creative” to the fullest: either Garmash as a forward, or Shepelev on the left flank of midfield. Which, of course, is a necessary measure, and not a great desire to engage in experimental work.

So why, in the trend with the return of their people from abroad, did Shakhtar win so obviously and crushingly? Let’s try to figure it out.

The first is a network of influence

Shakhtar has been running players in the structure of his club and farms for years, Dynamo tried to do the same. But the consistency and geography of rental activities at Shakhtar is wider. And so – for years.

The second is fidelity to colors

There is a sense of principle between the clubs, people hate for transfers, but in recent years, many guys still migrate between the giants even from a young age, and the coaches of the academy change jobs. Moreover – and it seems that this is not only an impression, but also real facts – in the last ten years, young people and coaches move from Dynamo to Shakhtar much more often … Leaving aside the fate of Lucescu, Karavaev or the same B. Mikhailichenko, we are talking about trends.

The third is the level of ambition

Over the past 12 years, Shakhtar has played 11 times in the group stage. Dynamo – about four times. This also speaks for itself.

Therefore, of course, Roman Yaremchuk is not the hero of our novel.

Yaremchuk’s salary in Benfica, according to specialized websites, fluctuated around 1.5 – 1.69 million euros per year. In the UPL, according to our insiders, there are only five players with a salary of more than 1 million, and there is a tendency that this contracts being finalizednew ones under such conditions are not ready to roll over even with the top stars you can imagine in the UPL.

Choosing between a club that was relegated from his former team to the Europa League and a club preparing to start in the Champions League group, it is unlikely that anyone will choose the championship of a warring country.

So we forget about Yaremchuk.

But, for example, the guys who could be remembered – in our next article. Believe me, the reverse vector is very promising and still remarkable for our giants. The miner proved it, and Dynamo can prove it too.
