Organizers of the annual Gentleman of the Year awards have announced the start of a vote that will determine the owner of the traditional tuxedo in 2022.
The list of nominees included: Fyodor Shalov (CSKA), Daniil Fomine (“Dynamo”), Alexander Selikhov (“Spartacus”), Daniel Utkin (“Rostov”), Igor Lebedenko (“Torpedo”), Ivan Sergeyev (“Zenith”), Hamid Agalarov (“Akhmat”), Artur Yusupov (“Sochi”), Maxim Gluchenkov (“Wings of the Soviets”), Anton Miranchuk (“Lokomotiv”) and Sergei Petrov (“Krasnodar”).
At the moment there are two clear leaders in the vote – Chalov and Agalarov are in the lead, each of them has about 25% of the vote. Voting will last until 11:59 p.m. (Moscow time) on September 19.
The prize is awarded to football players for their behavior on the field, their attitude towards partners, supporters and journalists. Also, the reason for the decision of the jury may be an act committed off the field or active charitable activities. Last year, the award of honor was given to the defender of Spartak and the Russian team George Jikia .
The Gentleman of the Year award has been awarded by Komsomolskaya Pravda since 1994. This year, the TV channel MATCH PREMIER is the general media partner of the award.
