Corinthians and Vítor Pereira started working together this season and Timão has already shown the desire to count on the coach for the 2023 sequel; check details
O Corinthians wants the permanence of Victor Pereira at the club for the 2023 season. Duílio Monteiro Alves has already made it clear that he expects to count on the Portuguese and the board approached the coach on a few occasions to discuss the matter. However, in all these attempts, the coach chose to leave the conversations until the end of the year, after all the competitions.
Last Monday, 5th, Vítor Pereira was during a CBF event, and was asked about his future at Corinthians. The commander warned that he is going through personal problems and that it will not be so easy to make the decision to stay in Brazil. According to him, the coaching profession demands too much and being away from his relatives is not a situation that pleases him.
“Family distance is complicated. I have… the family needs me. I have three children and they need me. They needed me to be closer, to have more time to enjoy, they came here twice, but I had little time with them. But this also happened in China. I’ve been out of my country for ten years, going around the world, it’s the bill we pay when we choose this profession”, stated.
According to Vítor Pereira, there are some conditions for him to stay at Corinthians: “I have to realize if I have family stability, if my family is at a point where they can handle another year away from home or not. This is really the big one… It has nothing to do with the difficulties of Brazilian football, problems are everywhere. In China there were also problems and I spent three years in China, much further away from my family than now.“.
“I imagine myself in football, why not in Corinthians? It depends. This is a subject that I will leave for the end. I have to see very well what will happen, how will my family situation, personal life, and then decisions if Corinthians is interested in talking to me about this”, he added. It is worth noting that his contract with the club runs until the end of 2022 and does not have an automatic renewal clause.
