Jürgen Klopp explodes when asked about the dangers of the city of Naples: ‘It’s a shameful question’

The Liverpool manager was left devastated when asked about the recommendations the club had given Reds supporters to avoid conflict during their visit to Italy.

Liverpool are preparing to start a new adventure in the Champions League. For the first date of the group stage, the Reds must face Napoli in Italy and hope to start by obtaining the first points as outsiders.

During the press conference preceding the match, a question annoyed coach Jürgen Klopp a lot. The technician was consulted by a club publication a few days before in which they warned their fans of the danger they could face during their visit.

The message stated that “In the interest of personal safety, LFC supporters are strongly advised NOT to make their own way to the stadium ”. This, because “free buses to and from the stadium will be made available to all LFC supporters with a valid match ticket”.

Moreover, in the fan guide provided by the same club, among other aspects, it recommends that “We recommend fans NOT to visit the city center. If you choose to do so, you should remain vigilant and aware that they may be subject to petty theft, burglary and assault. ”.

Regarding this, Klopp was asked during the press conference if he considers the city of Napoli to be dangerous. The response from the German coach was frank.

It’s an awkward question. Looking for titles. Do you live in Naples? Do you think it’s a dangerous city? I don’t know, I don’t live a normal life in Naples, he came here and I’m going to the hotel… “began the technician by launching.

You know perfectly well they were talking about what can happen if some fans meet some fans, but that has nothing to do with the city . I’m not here to create headlines for you, it seems like they don’t know what to ask me and that’s not a problem, because I’d like to go to the hotel, honestly, to think about the game”, he concluded on the subject.

Already thinking about the game, the Liverpool manager said Arthur Melo still needed work to adapt to the demands of local competitions and the Champions League, but felt he could add minutes.

“Arthur only needs football now, and above all training, that’s how it is. He hasn’t trained as a team for a while at Juve, so he needs training in proper team, and that’s what we’re doing with him. Can you play minutes? Yes, do I have to play a full game? No, because you have to get used to the intensity of each competition . It’s not that in the Champions League you have to work less than in the Premier League. Not at all, especially here. He’s fine, he really gives his all in training, we also have to be careful with him and then we’ll see if we can use him.”

He also talked about the complications that Napoli offer in football. “Of course, we didn’t win here, neither with Dortmund nor with Liverpool. But I’m not sure, often enough we qualified for the Champions League final after Napoli were with us in the group stage. . I don’t know if all the time, but maybe twice if I’m not mistaken, with Dortmund and a year also with Liverpool. But who cares ? How do you say in Germany, I’m late; I always need a bit more time to get things done and that means sometimes I have to try twice, sometimes three times, sometimes four times, and Napoli (maybe) four times, obviously. What do we have to do? Playing better than the previous three games would be very helpful as we didn’t play particularly well when we got here ”.

The match between Napoli and Liverpool, valid for the first date of Group A, is scheduled for today at 3:00 p.m.
