Doctor estimates Pogba’s recovery period after surgery

Paul Pogba underwent surgery on his right knee last Tuesday, 6th, and is now running out of time to be able to play in the World Cup.

The doctor responsible for the operation on the French midfielder’s knee, Paul Pogba, commented on the recovery time that will be necessary for the player to return to the pitch. With just over two months to go before the World Cup, there is fear that the Juventus player will be left out of the competition in which he was champion in 2018.

With the doctors of Juventus, we indicate a necessary time of eight weeks for Pogba to be reintegrated into the team and resume collective training. It is the estimated time, then the conditions and reaction (of the knee) will have to be evaluated when it starts to force“, commented Roberto Rossi to “Tuttosport”.

If the deadline mentioned by the doctor comes true, shirt 6 would be back in training, close to November 1st, which would allow the athlete to have about three weeks until the start of the Cup. The French national team debuts on the third day of the game, on the 22nd, against Australia, in a game valid for group D.

Pogba suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee in the pre-season that Juventus held in the United States. The decision taken at the time was to discard the surgical intervention, since theoretically the recovery takes longer and the player did not want to miss the World Cup. Despite this, as the conservative recovery did not work as expected, the surgical procedure was performed.

After the surgery, which the athlete performed last Tuesday, the 6th, Pogba said that despite the surgery and the problems, “everything was fine”. As for the problems, the Frenchman refers to a fight he is having with his older brother, which has even become a case of justice, both in France and in Italy.
