Athletistic/ Football. Former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius will soon sign with Newcastle United.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Newcastle’s talks with the 29-year-old German goalkeeper are in the final stages. The player has been a free agent since the end of June 2022 after his contract with Liverpool expired.

Karius was listed as a Merseysides player from 2016 to 2022 but in fact only spent two seasons for the team – 2016/2017 and 2017/2018. Karius made 49 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, conceding 47 goals.

From 2018 to 2020, the goalkeeper played on loan for Turkish Besiktas (67 games, 95 goals conceded), spent the 2020/2021 season on loan with the German Union (5 games, 4 goals conceded). In the 2021/2022 season, Karius didn’t play a single game for Liverpool, never even breaking into the squad for the game.
