Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior receives Spanish passport

Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior received a Spanish passport a day after the transfer window closed, according to the Spanish football club’s official website.

From now on, the team will have one more place to register players from outside the European Union. As journalist Fabrizio Romano notes on Twitter, “Real ” in June was unable to acquire Manchester City’s Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus due to the lack of free places for players from non-EU countries. Jesus eventually ended up at the Arsenal in London.

Vinicius Junior has been with Real Madrid since the summer of 2018. Because of the 22-year-old footballer, 14 games and one goal for the Brazilian national team.
