Técnico Lisca evaluated Santos’ match and recognized individual errors in the first half of the defeat against Ceará, away from home; team hasn’t won in three rounds
The coach Lisca evaluated the defeat of saints for the Ceará, by 2 to 1, for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. After the confrontation this Saturday, 10th, at Arena Castelão, Peixe’s coach gave a press conference. According to him, his team’s individual mistakes in the first half were decisive for the result.
Ceará opened 2-0 in the initial stage after a vacillation of the defensive system. The home team scored with Guilherme Castilho and Zé Roberto. In the press conference, Lisca admitted that the team left a lot of space for the opponent and made a mistake despite having control of the game. Peixe only scored at the beginning of the second half, with Marcos Leonardo.
“We had individual failures, we missed the first goal, we didn’t swing the line and we left a lot of space. In the second goal, the ball was ours, we had two options and we missed. We got in the way and got the ball back a lot to the goalkeeper. The game was controlled and we suffered in this tactical issue”said Lisca.
“The faults are individual, but the responsibility lies with the coach. The coach is the one who starts, the coach is the one who starts the players. I have to come out together with the players who failed.” added taking responsibility. Lisca still left the possibility to change his tactics:
“After two defeats there is always an assessment to be made. Let’s sit down and watch. We have to change the attitude first. At the beginning of the game it was very bad. It is a moment of reassessment, of rethinking the way of playing. Find a way to have defensive solidity and be more aggressive, to be able to annoy the opposing goalkeeper more. The submissions hurt little”added the coach.
Santos returns to the field for the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship next weekend. On Sunday, 18th, at 18:30 (Brasília time), Santos will face the classic against palm trees, at Allianz Parque. With the defeat, the alvinegro has nine points ahead of the relegation zone.
