Mevli’s agent believes Spartak newcomer is unlikely to make his debut for the club in Rostov game

Agent Andrei Stepanov, representing the interests of the newcomer “Spartacus” defender Michi Mevli said the Slovenian is unlikely to make his debut for Spartak in the upcoming WORLD RPL round with Rostov.

On the eve of Spartak announced the signing of a contract with a 32-year-old Slovenian. This footballer previously played in Russia for Zenit, Rostov and Sochi.

– Miha fully fulfilled the training workload at Alanyaspor, because during the summer we negotiated with many clubs, – Stepanov told RB Sport. – We understood that at any time we have to be ready for the fact that Miha will change clubs and we have to fight immediately. Don’t forget that Miha is a Slovenian national team player, he played several matches for the national team in June. Soon he also expects very important matches with the national team. He is preparing, and yesterday Slovenia confirmed his call, despite the fact that he signed a contract with Spartak. Fitness shouldn’t be a problem. Lack of playing practice can somehow affect, but in general Miha is ready. Above all, he is very motivated and ready to prove to himself and to others that he is a great footballer, ready to play for a club like Spartak.

Can he make his debut this weekend?

— There are legal problems regarding work permits in Russia. I’m not sure Miha will get a work permit by Sunday’s game. He is not expected to take part in the game against Rostov. He will still go with the team to Rostov in case he gets a work permit. But the probable date of his debut is in the Cup match against Fakel or already next weekend in the derby with Lokomotiv.

The meeting between Rostov and Spartak will take place on September 11 and will start at 7:45 p.m. Moscow time. The live stream can be seen on and MATCH PREMIER.
