Thiago Motta is Bologna’s new head coach

Bologna sacked Sinisa Mihajlovic earlier this week

New head coach Bologna will be an ex-player of the Italian national team Thiago Motta.

This was announced by the general director of the club Claudio Fenucci. Officially, Motta will become the coach of Bologna on 12 September.

In the summer, Motta left La Spezia. Under his leadership, the Bianconeri finished 16th in Serie A. Motta previously coached Genoa in the 2019/20 season, but was sacked after three months on the job.

Recall that Bologna has decided to part ways with head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic. The Serb took over Bologna in January 2019. This season, the red-blue in five rounds of Serie A scored only three points, not having won a single victory.

Bologna will host Fiorentina in the sixth round of the Italian championship on September 11 at home.
