The Donetsk Shakhtar midfielder said how the current Celtic is different from the one he played for.
The current Celtic has changed a lot and does not look like a team of two years ago. Shakhtar midfielder Marjan Shved, who previously played for the team from Glasgow, spoke about this at a press conference. However, the player believes that miners should not look at the opponent, but start with their game.
“I wouldn’t say that I know this team. Because two years ago, when I was there, it was a completely different team compared to today: only two players from the main team remained.
So I don’t know much about them, but the coaching staff told us, and I saw the cuts from the matches myself, so I can say that this is a good team with fast flanks that will put pressure on us.
But we are ready for it. I hope that if we show our game, we will achieve a positive result,” Shakhtar’s official website quoted Shved as saying.
Note that Celtic own the rights to the Ukrainian footballer from 2019 to 2021.
As a reminder, the match between Shakhtar and Celtic will take place today, September 14, in Warsaw. The starting whistle will sound at 19:45 Kyiv time.
Earlier, Shakhtar’s coach Igor Jovicevich shared his thoughts on the upcoming match.
