The former Kyiv Dynamo defender has decided to end his professional career at the age of 38.

Former Dynamo Kyiv defender Betao has finally decided to end his professional playing career. The player himself announced this at a specially convened press conference.

Note that since 2016, the Brazilian has played in his homeland for the Avai club. In its composition he set a personal record: he played 271 team matches – the most for any club.

Betao, 38, will remain at Avai and serve as the club’s technical youth coordinator.

“With great pleasure and pride I announced the end of my life cycle as a professional player and the beginning of a new path. I do not end melancholy, but intentionally and happily, because I have already exceeded my limits.

I feel like I did what I wanted. It’s not about defeat and success, it’s about heritage. Not just inside, but also in people. You have to glorify the profession. Football is not just about vanity, intrigue, losing and winning, selfishness, but also about dedication, love and professionalism, ”Betao said.
