The reason is the February decision of UEFA to suspend the participation of Russian teams and clubs in the competition under the auspices of the organization, which is valid by default “until further notice.”
This decision was challenged by the RFU at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS), which rejected the appeal in July.
The Union is currently awaiting the full text of the CAS decision, based on the results of the study where a decision will be made on further steps within the framework of legal protection,” the RFU said in a statement.
