With United’s help, São Paulo reaches a millionaire surplus

São Paulo confirmed a large surplus so far in the season and should have a positive year after sequences of deficits; sales were key

O Sao Paulo has reasons to celebrate the year 2022 in the financial sector. With the help of FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, the merit of the squad that reached the stipulated goals and the fans that attended the stadium, the club has a millionaire surplus, which despite admitting a decrease until the end of the year, makes the board proud of the job.

The main reasons for this good financial result can be placed in the names of Antony and casemiro. Both players were sold to Manchester United in the mid-year transfer window and guaranteed something close to R$112 million to the club’s coffers. Furthermore, Rigoni, Lucas Perri and Gabriel Sara were sold and also contributed more money coming in.

Another important factor is the sporting goals set at the beginning of the season, which were mostly achieved. In the Campeonato Paulista, Copa do Brasil and Copa Sul-Americana, the squad managed to do its part, but in the Brasileirão it is still below the goal and the only thing missing is the compensation in the other championships.

Finally, the spirit of the fans during the season has also made a difference. With an audience record in the next year, the Sao Paulo has already secured R$ 50.4 million, according to “UOL Esporte”, which means 94% of what was scheduled for the entire season, with six games still to be played as home team until the end of the season.

With all this good news, the club posted a surplus of R$79.7 million so far. Despite this, within the club it is known that this number will decrease, as this season will end in early November, because of the World Cup and Brazilian teams will be inactive for about two months in the year.
