Ukrainians retain chances to qualify for Euro 2023
Midfielder of the youth team of Ukraine Georgy Sudakov commented on the defeat against Slovakia (2:3) in the first match of the qualifying playoff round Euro 2023.
“I am a footballer and should not comment on the actions of referees. First of all, you need to be responsible for the actions of the team, for your game. Slovakia is a good team that fights well, plays well off the ball. I think it’s one of the strongest opponents we’ve played against.”
“So far, it is difficult to comment on something. When we disassemble the game and conduct an analysis, it will be possible to say something. We played well, somewhere undeservedly lost. I think in the next match we will play much better both in attack and in defense.
“The stands helped, we heard them. Thanks for support. It’s nice that in Slovakia there are our people who drove us forward.”
The youth team of Ukraine lost to Slovakia in the away first match of the playoffs (2:3). Guests twice bounced back during the match, but failed to level the score after the third missed goal.
The second leg, which is considered “home” for the Rotan team, will take place in the Polish city of Bielsko-Biala at the Municipal Stadium on September 27. The match starts at 18:30 Kyiv time.
