Formula 1 stars perform during Netflix golf tournament

Netflix, which made the now world-famous documentary series Drive to Survive about Formula 1, decided to try organizing sports competitions for the first time.

On November 14, Las Vegas will host the Netflix Cup golf tournament, which will bring together both professional golfers and Formula 1 drivers who have achieved any degree of success in the sport.

The tournament will be held at the elite Wynn Golf Club on an 18-hole golf course and will be shown live on the streaming service Netlix.

Formula 1 will be represented by Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz, and each of them will be paired with a PGA Tour professional. These are the Americans Rickie Fowler, Max Houma, Colin Morikawa and Justin Thomas.

All four pairs compete in the first round, with the top two advancing to the final. This competition takes place before the Grand Prix of Las Vegas and therefore Netflix wants to draw attention to the new documentary series Full Swing, dedicated to golf, as the second season is currently in production.

“The continued success of Drive to Survive was instrumental in popularizing Formula 1 in the United States, ultimately leading to the addition of a third American race to the World Championship calendar,” said Emily Praser, Vice President of Business, Las Vegas Grand Prix. . “It is only fitting that we kick off our debut race weekend with a fun event that can capture the attention of both racing and golf fans around the world.”
