Last year Liam Lawson spent five Grands Prix, replacing Daniel Ricciardo, who injured his hand, and this season he will spend six stages as the main driver and one of the main candidates for a place in RB in 2025 – the contract is not yet signed.
In an interview with Newstalk ZB, the New Zealander spoke about the difficulties of the end of the season…
Liam Lawson: “I’m returning to Formula 1 at a difficult time, with six rounds before the end of the year. All my rivals have already completed three quarters of the season and I have to try to compete with them on circuits I don’t know well. It won’t be easy.
To get a contract I have to perform well, show myself in Formula 1 and do a job similar to what I did last year. Then I deserved the chance to get behind the wheel, now I’m working on my future again and I have to do enough to stay with the team next year.”
