With the best run of the day: Joaquín Niemann finishes third in the LIV in Saudi Arabia

The Chilean signed a five-under par card this Sunday and was just one stroke away from Brooks Koepka and Peter Uihlein, who eventually went into a playoff game to set the date champion.

Despite coming halfway through the schedule, there’s no doubt that Joaquín Niemann will remain one of LIV’s best players in his first year of life. In his fourth super league event, the Chilean finished in third place, signing lowest lap of the day and stay one shot behind the leaders.

Specifically, this Sunday was Niemann’s fastest lap in Jeddah. He signed a card of five under par, thanks to eight birdies, one bogey and one double bogey being with Bernd Wiesberger the only players to have obtained a -5 card in the last turn.

This allowed the Chilean to climb four places in the general classification, from 11th place to third. A feat that extends his time in the new league, since in his first four events he has three top ten finishes .

Niemann’s big day actually left him one shot away from making the playoffs (it would have been his second in LIV) which defined the winner of the date being played in Jeddah.

This definition has been challenged by Brooks Koepka and Peter Uihlein who they only moved away from chilean in the last flag of the day , where the two birdied and were twelve under overall. In the tiebreaker, they had to play three holes for Koepka to finally get his first LIV win.

Now the talagantino thinks of Miami, where the last event of the super league season will be played, which has the most millionaire bag of the entire competition: the champion pockets 18 million dollars.
