16 sauvignon blanc to refresh the spring

We experience hot days, terraces and cold dishes. Pure stuff that goes well with this classic white wine strain, of which there is an abundant variety on the market. In order not to get dizzy, here we select excellent options for all pockets.

Great Tarapaca Reserve 2021

A sober and classic white, with good acidity and very sweet aromas, between floral and citrus. It goes perfectly with grilled southern hake and a little garlic.

Forest Houses Small Productions 2021

It’s hard to talk about Sauvignon Blanc without thinking of the Casablanca Valley. In turn, it is almost impossible to talk about this white-producing region without mentioning Casas del Bosque, which with its small productions gives us a very fruity wine but with a good share of acidity. Ideal to enjoy with oysters and toast with butter.

Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo Special Reserve

In general, the Casillero del Diablo range, from Concha y Toro, is associated with red wines. However, this Sauvignon Blanc is more than remarkable. With an attractive price and rich acidity, in addition to a freshness that makes it easy to drink, it goes perfectly with a good brie cheese and some crackers.

Cordillera Miguel Torres Special Reserve

A very award-winning and very rich Sauvignon Blanc is this Cordillera, which stands out for its complex aromas, inclined towards sweetness and citrus, even herbal notes. On the palate, it has a well-marked but pleasant acidity. For the same reason, I would choose it to accompany charcuterie.

Koyle Costa

Another great sauvignon blanc but quite distinctive in style, with aromas ranging from grassy to citrus. It has a pungent, almost spicy flavor, but it feels good. I recommend it to enjoy it with some grilled vegetables.

Matetic Corralillo

From the San Antonio Valley, this is another well-deserved sauvignon blanc. With aromas of grapefruit peel and tropical fruits such as mango, it presents a rich acidity and a certain minerality on the palate. Ideal for eating sashimi or a good ceviche.

Garces Silva Amayna

This Sauvignon Blanc has also gained in prestige: it is very convivial, has limited acidity and pleasant citrus tones. It is so versatile that it goes well at aperitif time but also with some pincer mussels.

Buoy Garces Silva

Fresh, fruity and with a slight mineral touch that lingers on the palate: this is how we could define this wine from the Garcés Silva vineyard, which, although it can be drunk on any occasion, I would reserve it to be enjoyed with a exquisite fried conger eel.

St. Carolina Gold Star

We have a workaholic here that, again, I cannot fail to mention. This Sauvignon Blanc has to be one of the best value for money on the market. In addition, its fruity aroma, and some notes of peaches and apricots, give it an exquisite acidity, as if to accompany clams with pears and green sauce.

Reserve J. Bouchon

It is also a sauvignon blanc at a good price, but quite expressive on the palate. It has acidity and notes of fruit, which go very well with its equally fruity aroma, although rather in a citrus touch. In general, it goes perfectly with fish and shellfish, although it would not be bad to associate it with an anchovy pizza.

Southern Cone Bike Reserve

Beyond its low price, the truth is that this Sauvignon Blanc is very fresh, with a small acidity that makes it very pleasant on the palate. Definitely a wine to eat, for example, mussels and fries.

Reserve Miguel Torres Santa Digna

Quite fruity and with very little acidity, this Sauvignon Blanc is very pleasant on the palate. It has a good price, which makes it ideal for lunch on a hot day, on days when you drink a lot of wine and eat cold dishes, such as cochayuyo salad or tuna carpaccio.

Casa Silva Fresh Coast

Another of the very good sauvignon blanc that can be found, although for the same reason its price exceeds ten thousand pesos. Very fruity and refreshing, it has rather lemony tones and an acidity that goes wonderfully with main courses. For example, a sea urchin paste (when the season ends, of course).

Aresti Estate Selection

Here is a Sauvignon Blanc that responds to the classic “good, beautiful and inexpensive”. A sober wine, with very little acidity and some slight fruity notes, rather citrus. It is allowed to drink, and with a fried hake with mayo potatoes and a Chilean salad, it will combine wonderfully.

Amaral

With rather herbaceous aromas, but on the palate with lots of citrus, this is an ideal Sauvignon Blanc to open the fires of a long lunch. What to accompany it with? A cold marshal, with lots of raw seafood, will come in handy.

Large Reserve Las Dichas Terra Noble

Finally, one of my favorite Sauvignon Blancs. Fresh, aromatic and mineral, it is a complex wine that stays in the mouth with exquisite acidity. Ideal to enjoy with some raw chochas with just a few drops of lemon.
