New and fun ideas to celebrate Easter

We leave you a list of different and attractive options to surprise the little ones during this holiday. From chocolates to activities to do at home.

Easter Sunday or Resurrection Easter is one of the most important feasts of the Catholic Church, but without a doubt, it has also become one of the favorite days of the youngest (and the oldest too). And of course, unlike Christmas or Children’s Day – where the child’s eye and obsession is with gifts – in this celebration the idea is to eat chocolate in the purest style. of Augustus Gloop, the greedy child of Charlie and the chocolate factory, This is what brings this party to life.

The day is approaching, and we parents are shivering, because if we can measure the amount of chocolate consumed, we should avoid visits from grandparents or uncles, who appear with a few more eggs in their sleeves, to achieve prudent consumption. .

The day starts early with the anxiety to see if the bunny left the eggs, and the chocolate eating doesn’t stop for the next few hours. But not everything has to be based on this elixir of coffee and with exacerbated doses of sugar we can look for healthier options to replace chocolate, different entertainment, exciting decorations… and in Práctico we share some ideas.

chocolate eggs

Let’s start with the most anticipated, chocolate. The answer may not be to ban chocolate, but rather to improve its quality. It is better to buy fewer eggs but of better quality. But what to look for when buying?

María Jesús Palma, Marketing Manager of the classic Warsaw brand, gives us some tips that can help us choose the type of chocolate we are going to buy:

1) Bright and uniform color: The first impression counts and so does the presentation of a chocolate. A quality chocolate, whatever its type, must have a bright color and an even tone over its entire surface, guaranteeing optimal conditions and temperatures from the moment it is produced.

2) Consistency: A quality chocolate, it sounds. True chocolate lovers identify its quality through a good break due to the dry sound it produces. With sound comes consistency. At a higher percentage of cocoa, good chocolate takes longer to melt to the touch, and at a lower percentage, it dissolves quickly due to a high oil or fat content.

3) Ingredients: The higher the cocoa percentage, the better. Regardless of the type of chocolate, it’s always important to look at its ingredients, looking for the highest amount of natural ingredients and the least amount of additives, fats and oils.

4) Aroma: Without a doubt, chocolate is quite an aromatic product, a factor that also indicates its quality. Its aroma makes it possible to associate the type of chocolate and the ingredients it contains, but an intense smell of chocolate must always predominate.

5) Taste and Texture: The last key factor, the flavor of the chocolate. A good chocolate flavor and a slow and balanced dissolution in the mouth determine a good quality.

DIY

Finally, even if we have time left – which we often don’t have – there is the possibility of doing things with our own hands to decorate or simply to spend quality time with our children. Or, some ideas with which we can surprise them.

rabbit footprints

For many children, the Easter bunny hides eggs so they can find baskets of chocolates and candies. But while he delivers to children, he also leaves a mark!

A great idea is to surprise them with magical white footprints on Easter morning. With a few simple materials, create footprints of the Easter Bunny for the little ones to find and guide them to the eggs.

Materials needed:

rabbit footprint stencil

Scissors and/or paper cutter

Flour

Strainer

Instructions:

1. Print or draw the Easter Bunny Footprint template on heavy paper (like card stock) that will support the weight of the flour.

2. Cut out the footprints to create a template.

3. Sift the flour and sprinkle a layer over the imprint stencil.

4. When finished, return the colander to the bowl or plate to prevent spillage.

carrot baskets

The Easter Bunny isn’t the only one who loves carrots, your kids do too (at least those carrot-shaped cones). To make them, you’ll need orange construction paper and coffee filters, double-sided tape, green paint, string, clothespin, coat hanger, paper towel, and scissors.

Not:

1. Mix a few drops of green paint with water until it has the consistency of milk. Dip the coffee filters in the paint mixture until they are completely saturated (you can do this several times at a time).

2. Squeeze out any excess paint and let the filters dry on paper towel or hang them from a hanger with a clip or clothespin.

3. Cut and roll the cardboard into a cone shape, gluing the sides with double-sided tape. Cut out the center of the painted coffee filters.

4. Tape the excess paper to the inside edge of the cone with double-sided tape. Fill the “carrot” cone with small candies and tie the string around the top to close it.

A classic: painting eggshells

Painting Easter eggs is a tradition at Easter. For children, it can be a very fun activity to empty the eggs and decorate them as they wish. How to do it?

Materials :

  • Eggs
  • A needle
  • bowl or bowl
  • Tea towel
  • blowing bulb
  • medicine syringe

Tip: Empty the egg onto an easily cleanable surface, as it gets dirty easily.

Instructions :

1. Poke a small hole in the most pointed part of the egg with a needle. Drill another small hole at the bottom, slightly larger. You can blow or also insert the syringe through the smaller hole and blow air carefully so that the white and yolk all come out the other side of the bowl. You can clean the inside by pouring water into the syringe and removing it the same way.

2. Let the egg drain completely and dry it thoroughly. Wait a bit before painting. To do this, you can use acrylic paint or permanent markers.

3. Start painting the egg by holding it by the ends and continue until you have completely painted. Let it dry on a bottle cap and decorate it to your liking.
