The PGA TOUR has announced the All-New FedExCup Fall 2023

Seven tournaments played in September and October in the fall will determine the top 125 and new playing opportunities for the 2024 FedExCup season goal

He PGA TOUR announced its schedule for FedExCup Fall 2023which consists of seven official PGA TOUR events, which will be played in the months of September and October, in the fall, and which will add more excitement to the season.

The significant benefits to win during the FedExCup Fall remains, including a two-year PGA TOUR exemption, 500 FedExCup points, entry into the season-opening Sentry Tournament of Champions and the PLAYERS Championship, as well as entry into the majors they invite the winners to TOUR to the past. There will be additional drama as players use the seven fall events to secure or improve their priority ranking positions to earn additional playing opportunities for the 2024 FedExCup season, which will return to a calendar year that scheme (January August).

Players who finished 70th or better through the FedExCup Playoffs and on the eligibility points list through the 2023 TOUR Championship are excluded for 2024. But, new this year, players are ranked 51st and beyond that they will carry their FedExCup points from the regular season and Playoffs into FedExCup Fall as well, and continue to accumulate FedExCup points to finalize their eligibility for the 2024 season.

It’s on the line during the FedExCup Fall:

  • Winner Benefits: Winners get a two-year exemption from the TOUR and, if not previously eligible, entry into the following season’s first “Designated event”, the Sentry Tournament of Champions, THE PLAYERS Championship, as well as also qualifying for the Majors Championships which invite PGA TOUR winners.
  • Priority Ranking Position: FedExCup Fall will close the Priority Rankings entering the 2024 season, including a top-125 category for those who finish outside the top 70 in the FedExCup rankings. Standard FedExCup points will be awarded in all seven events, including 500 points awarded to the winner.
  • Entry into Designated Events: The ten previously ineligible players with the most FedExCup points during FedExCup Fall will earn bypasses into the first two Designated events following the Sentry Tournament of Champions (to be announced at a later date). .
  • THE PLAYERS Championship Entry: Formerly ineligible players may use the FedExCup Fall to qualify for THE PLAYERS Championship.
  • Prizes: $56.6 million in prizes will be awarded during the FedExCup Fall 2023 season.

“We are releasing the most significant update to the PGA TOUR since the 2007 season, the first year of the FedExCup,” said PGA TOUR President Tyler Dennis. “The reinvention of our calendar, with the Regular Season, new Designated and Full Field events through to the FedExCup Playoffs, culminating in FedExCup Fall, creates distinct yet connected ‘chapters’, and within the new framework, FedExCup Fall is more than ever an important part of this amazing story. The stakes will be high, and the rewards more immediate, as FedExCup Fall opportunities are unlocked for the upcoming season.

FedExCup Fall kicks off with the Fortinet Championship (Sept. 11-17) before taking a two-week break, during which the Ryder Cup will be held (from September 25 to October 1). Next is a three-week series of events in October: the Sanderson Farms Championship (October 2-8); Shriners Children’s Open (October 9-15); and the ZOZO Championship (October 16-22).

After a one-week break, FedExCup Fall resumes on October 30 in Los Cabos, Mexico, with the World Wide Technology Championship, which, as previously announced, will move to El Cardonal in Diamante. Opened in 2014, El Cardonal was the first golf course designed by 82-time PGA TOUR winner Tiger Woods and his company TGR Design. FedExCup Fall concludes with the Butterfield Bermuda Championship (November 6-12) and RSM Classic (November 13-19).

All seven FedExCup Fall events will be televised on the Golf Channel, with ESPN+ providing Thursday and Friday coverage for all four events in the United States.

In conjunction with FedExCup Fall, chances to qualify for the 2024 FedExCup season will be determined through three formal paths:

  • The top 10 finishers, not otherwise exempt, in the DP World Tour Ranking Race to Dubai.
  • The top 30 players on the final Korn Ferry Tour points list.
  • The top five finishers and ties from the final leg of the 2023 PGA TOUR Q-School return for the first time since 2012.

Tournaments affected by the FedExCup Fall 2023 schedule include:

  • The Houston Open, which has been held in the fall since 2019, will be played in the spring of 2024. More details about the Houston Open and the full 2024 FedExCup schedule will be announced at a later date.
  • The World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions, which has not been contested since 2019, will not be played in 2023. As previously reported, the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play will also not be contested as part of the 2024 FedExCup season.

The PGA TOUR Challenge season, which consists of three events, will be followed by FedExCup Fall: the Hero World Challenge (November 27-December 3), hosted by Tiger Woods; the Grant Thornton Invitational (December 4-10), a new co-sanctioned event between the PGA TOUR and the LPGA; and the PNC Championship (December 11-17). All three Challenge season events will be televised on NBC and the Golf Channel.
