After positioning himself in place T22 of the TPC Sawgrass, the national golfer managed to place himself at 18th in the world.
During yesterday’s session, Joaquín Niemann closed his participation in the Players’ Championship. After a long competition which was affected and delayed by the bad weather of Ponte Vedra Beach (located in the state of Florida, United States), the Chilean ended his performance in the so-called ‘major fifth’ in a terrific way.
After 18 holes, the national ended with an aggregate card of -5 and in position T25, waiting for what the other competitors will do. As the rest of the day passed, Joaco climbed a few positions and finally reached the T22 place, taking a figure close to 201 thousand dollars.
The TPC winner was Australia’s Cameron Smith, who scored -13 overall, while second and third place went to India’s Anirban Lahiri (-12) and England’s Paul Casey (-12) respectively. -11).

His best historical ranking
Niemann is having the best year of his career. His great performance in recent tournaments allowed the national to add a significant number of points, he therefore quickly climbed the World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
The national golfer started the year as 31st in the world, but after his strong performances, including winning The Genesis Invitational, he ranked 22nd in the OWGR.
