The Chamber of Deputies and Deputies has approved a project to speed up the renewal of the license, a process that today can take months due to high demand after the end of the post-pandemic extension.
If you have a friend, a relative or even yourself, who needs to renew their driver’s license, you will probably face a problem that is difficult to solve, because for months the various municipalities have been giving hours, but with several months of delay.
The reason for the chaos with permits started when the extension due to the pandemic ended this year and people had to start renewing the document that allowed them to drive from January 1, depending on date of birth. Thus, for those whose license expired, for example, on May 30, 2021, they must have the document updated on May 30, 2023.
Now, if this person asks for an hour to renew the license these days, he will surely tell you that it is only from July or August that he will be able to carry out the process, because the municipalities show a 300% increase in the number of annual visits to complete the renewal process, resulting in excessive wait times.
“The increase in the demand for obtaining a driving license is due to an unconsulted decision, in which he submitted to municipalities to successive license extensions, all of which expire this year . With medical certificate
To speed up the driving license renewal process, the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies approved, by 134 votes in favor, a project that accredits the physical and mental fitness requirements for renewing the non-professional driving license. Regarding the term of validity, it was reported that the draft specified that the license would be valid for up to 6 years, counting from the expiry date indicated in the license which is renewed.
