Joaquín Niemann closes his participation in The Players with a -5 card

Joaquín Niemann ended his participation in the Players’ Championship after a long competition that was affected several times due to bad weather.

In the day of this Monday, Joaquín Niemann finished his performance in the so-called “fifth Major”. During the morning, the Chilean golfer had to close his last eight holes, corresponding to the third day .

Joaco had left flag 11 unfinished, as he was about to sign the pair. However, he dragged bogey which left him with a +1 card. Later he added another shot over par on the 15th hole, although he could have discounted one on the 16th, his last birds which meant closing the third round in position T26 with an aggregate card of -3, leaving six suits under the leader, the Indian Anirban Lahiri (-9) .

There was no rest time, as he had to immediately start playing the last 18 holes of the competition from the tee 1 of TPC Sawgrass, accompanied by Canadian Taylor Pendrith and American Keith Mitchell.

After starting, he managed to hold par on the first three holes and ran into trouble on the fourth. There, a par 4 of 388 yards, accumulated a new bogey which made him drop down the leaderboard and reach a total card of -2 hits .

But two flags later he was able to retrieve the extra stick after signing a birds at hole 6 and with that keep his record of -3 .

Niemann continues to move calmly down the pitch without risking too much. Thus, he kept pace with a series of pairs at flags 7 and 11 until in the 12 added a new birds which allowed him to climb to the provisional position of T21 with a card of -4 although remaining far from the outposts, he was led at this minute by the Australian Cameron Smith with -11.

In the last two holes, Niemann again managed to discount with a birds at 17 and a couple at 18, with which he finished the competition with a cumulative map of -5 in place T25 while waiting for the other competitors .
