Elon Musk unveiled on Monday a new logo of a X in black and white to replace the famous blue bird of Twitter as part of its campaign to rebrand the platform it bought for $44 trillion last year.
Musk replaced his Twitter icon with a white X on a black background and posted a photo of the design projected onto the company’s headquarters in San Francisco. .
The X was seen on Monday at the top of the desktop version of the social network though the bird still dominated the mobile app.
Musk had asked his followers for ideas and chose one, which he called minimalist Art Deco and “certainly will be refined”.
“And soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and, little by little, to all the birds Musk tweeted on Sunday.

The billionaire runs the rocket company Space Exploration Technologies Corp., popularly known as SpaceX .
And in 1999, he founded a company called X.com, an Internet financial services company now known as PayPal.
X.com domain now redirects users to twitter.com Musk said.
