Discover the 20 best-selling vehicles on the Chilean market today

We have carried out an analysis of the automobile market in our country where we see that Toyota is the best-selling brand and has four models in the list of the 20 best-selling vehicles.

The latest report from National Automobile Association of Chile (Anac) indicates that the Chilean automobile market does not raise its head, since 25,503 units were sold in the month of September, which represents a decrease of 31% compared to the same month of last year and becomes the second worst monthly performance of 2023.

Despite this scenario, automobile manufacturers continue to seek various strategies to position themselves and market the greatest number of vehicles. With this, the fight to enter the top 20 best-selling cars becomes more and more difficult, since the variety of models that each brand has constitutes its portfolio, often making it difficult to focus on just one.

Best Selling Features

The Toyota Hilux is the best-selling vehicle to date. In fact, just in August it managed to surpass the Mitsubishi L200, a long-dominating truck. The main reasons are due to its variety of versions, since it offers 10 variants, one with a single cabin and nine with a double cabin, and it also has single traction or 4×4 traction.

Felipe Purcell, head of the Toyota Chile brand, emphasizes that the success of this truck is due to different factors: “We believe it is due to the confidence provided by the model and the brand. Hilux has been in production for over 50 years, and in each of its generations it has been recognized by people for its quality and durability, and today it brings these same features, updated with technology and safety , which allow it to have 5 safety stars, in Latin N-Cap. Our customers recognize and appreciate these efforts to produce a model that stands out from the competition in all these aspects.

It offers three types of engines, the first is a 2.4 liter turbodiesel, which delivers 148 hp and 400 Nm of torque, the second is a 2.8 liter turbodiesel, developing 201 hp and 420 Nm of torque (a version with 500 Nm). Finally, there is the 2.7 liter petrol option with 164 hp and 245 Nm of torque.
