The favorite variety of millions of Chileans, ideal for roasts and red meats in general, is found in a wide range of prices, valleys and styles. Here, ten recommendations that will not disappoint you.
J. Bouchon Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

From certain vineyards in the Maule valley comes this wine with its intense red color, so characteristic of Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as the fruity aromas and light herbaceous notes that it presents on the nose. However, on the palate, its flavor is rather mild although persistent. Very good value for money, it is ideal for enjoying grilled smoked sausages.
Requingua Toro de Piedra Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon

It’s not my favorite Cabernet Sauvignon, but it is one of many Chileans who, in just a few years, have transformed it into one of the country’s most beloved wines. You could say this is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon; that is to say an intense red, very aromatic – in line with red fruits – and rather full-bodied on the palate. Ideal, otherwise, to accompany a good roast beef from start to finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon Bisquertt Robin Reserve

Another Cabernet Sauvignon with a rather classic style and a more than interesting quality-price ratio. We smell a good dose of red fruits and some peppery notes in its aroma. However, on the palate it is perceived as light and very pleasant. Ideal to accompany an assortment of sausages such as chorizo, salami and serrano ham, as well as cheese.
Cabernet Sauvignon Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo Reserve

A massive wine, present in practically all national commerce, and therefore known to everyone. On the nose, it expresses very subtle herbaceous notes. while on the palate it is soft and pleasant, with lots of fruit. A fairly classic Cabernet Sauvignon in short, and despite its massiveness (around 60 million bottles are produced per year), it does not lose its line. And to accompany what? It may be a very massive poor man’s kidney.
Tabalí Pedregoso Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon

It is a great Cabernet Sauvignon with a classic composition: it has a well-defined ruby red color and has aromas reminiscent of red fruits and even tobacco and a little menthol. Fruits and spices are also felt on the palate, in addition to having a slight acidity. In short, a complex and seductive wine, which could long exceed the ten thousand pesos mark but, fortunately, this is not the case. It is ideal to accompany grilled insides and to continue enjoying it also after the meal.
Porta Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

The Porta vineyard is characterized by its small size and low noise. Their wines generally suffer the same fate and are little known to the general public. However, its best asset is the excellent value for money in its catalog, which offers excellent wines, like this Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva, for less than five thousand pesos. A real bargain, with very good structure and ideal to accompany any roast.
Cabernet Sauvignon Ventisquero Gris Single Block

For a special meal, like baked lamb, this wine is worth it. It is a Cabernet Sauvignon with an intense red color and also with pronounced aromas, particularly of red fruits. On the palate, it is persistent but fresh, with subtle menthol notes. A great wine that deserves to be tasted from time to time.
Cabernet Sauvignon Puente Austral Gran Reserva

Another Cabernet Sauvignon that deserves to be toasted in special moments is this one, more complex thanks to its 15% Malbec. It is an intense red wine, a little dark, with aromas full of red fruits, pepper and tobacco. On the palate it is persistent but very soft, probably due to the help of Malbec. A wine for grilling, but with good meats and perhaps a few fattier things, like sweetbreads or malaya pork.
Los Vascos Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

The truth is, this classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Los Vascos Vineyard never fails. Thanks to its deep red color, its aromas of red fruits and a unique silkiness on the palate, it can be a wine to have on the everyday table as well as for the Sunday roast. An excellent product which, in addition, always remains at a good price.
Santa Ema Amplus Cabernet Sauvignon

The list ends with a powerful wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon with an intense aroma, notes of red fruits and which is firm and persistent on the palate. For all this, a well-seasoned grilled rib holds up perfectly. Of course, it is a wine to continue tasting after lunch.
