Chile Classic: Aguilar, del Solar and Morgan qualify at La Reina

Half of the national delegation will continue to compete during the weekend. They have already obtained part of the million dollar purse distributed by the event.

The Chile Classic will have a national presence during the weekend. After Friday, three local golfers will still be in the running for the trophy and the largest possible share of the $1 million purse distributed by the tournament.

They are Cristóbal del Solar, Felipe Aguilar and Gabriel Morgan, who concluded the second round with an overall record of four under par, just above the cut, which ended precisely at this figure. In this way, three of the six qualified Chileans will continue to play at the Prince Of Wales Country Club.

Those who failed to qualify are Tomás Gana, Matías Domínguez and Agustín Errázuriz. The last two were dramatic as they finished with a margin of -3, just one shot away from remaining in the competition.

The actions continue this Saturday from 09:00 local time, but the doors of the La Reina room will open to the public at 07:30.

Niemann and Mito at LIV

It’s not all action in Santiago this weekend. Far from the PGA and its circuits, Joaquín Niemann and Mito are experiencing a new LIV date in Hong Kong.

The national delegation outperformed the peloton in the first round and maintains a chance to surprise in the following rounds. There, Talagante is the one who appears best placed, since she arrives on Saturday among the 20 best brands of the event.

Niemann finished three under par, mainly thanks to an eagle he hit on hole 17. He remains four shots behind the leaders in his quest to win his third Arab League trophy so far this year.

Mito, for her part, will start the second day with a bang under the demands of the field, in 31st place in the table.
