The American star Tiger Woods48 years old, appears on the official list of those registered to compete in August Masterstournament grand slam which will take place from April 11 to 14 at Augusta National Golf Club, in Georgia.
Tiger is a five-time champion of the event, with victories in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2019. Since his last victory was 38th in 2020, he did not participate in 2021 and 47th in 2022 , in the last major tournament where he has completed four days so far. Meanwhile, in the 2023 edition he retired after 36 holes due to plantar fasciitis.
In the current season, he played in just one tournament, the Genesis Invitational, in California, last month, but had to withdraw after six holes due to a bad case of the flu.
With 15 Grand Slam tournaments in his cabinet, Woods has announced that he wants to play only one tournament per month, as his physique has suffered since he suffered major injuries in February 2021 resulting from a serious car accident.
