Alejandro Tosti is on the verge of winning the title in Houston

But Tosti was satisfied with his performance and is excited for what the season holds. “I’m so happy. My whole life I dreamed of this, to have this opportunity like today. Of course this is the first and I know I will get my revenge and I will be in this position many times. I don’t think so “I played well so I’m very happy with the result, knowing that I can still play better.”

The Argentine’s start was uneventful with a bogey on hole 2 and missing a few starts, but birdies on the par-5 in the first leg put him back in contention. On the way back, Tosti bogeyed the par-4 12th and then again thanks to his power off the tee (number one away from the driver) he birdied the 16th which gave him a brief lead.

“Today I hit the shots I was supposed to hit. I missed a lot on the left and that’s something I’m working on, but I think this week I’ve improved. It’s great to define, with all the frameworks of people, and to have the opportunity to do it in my first season is priceless”Tosti said he will play the Valero Texas Open next week.

Tosti is making his debut this season on the PGA TOUR and so far in 2024 he has made four cuts in eight events and this is his best performance.
