Here’s how business will operate during the holidays: check the hours and which stores will be open

Next week comes the national holidays, which are a series of changes in the functioning of the trade before the next holidays .

It’s a long day of celebration that, for most people, will begin on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 17, the day before any public holidays listed on the calendar.

To help you prepare for upcoming shopping or plan events to attend, below are details of announced early closing times and what will be open during the holidays.

According to the Chilean calendar, there are three public holidays in September 2024, on the following days:

• Wednesday, September 18, an unmissable public holiday for national independence.
• Thursday, September 19, an unmissable public holiday for the Army Glory Day.
• Friday September 20, public holiday added but not essential.

This year there is an extra day thanks to the Law 20 215 which determines the added holiday when mandatory holidays are placed so that there is only one isolated day on a Monday or Friday.

As for national holidays, for On Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th, the operation of the business is prohibited. .

THE premises that will be able to open their doors on both days because they constitute exceptions to the norm, they correspond to:

• Restaurants.
• Entertainment establishments, such as cinemas, live shows, discos, pubs, cabaret or clubs.
• Commercial premises in public civil airfields and airports.
• Gaming casinos and other legally authorized gaming locations.
• Fuel sales.
• Emergency pharmacies and pharmacies that must keep working hours.
• Convenience stores attached to service centers, if they sell prepared meals.
• Premises managed by their own owners.

For its part, for the third national holiday of the week this year, On Friday, September 20, businesses will be able to operate normally as confirmed Santiago Chamber of Commerce .

• Tuesday 17: Jumbo, Easy and locals open until 7:00 p.m.; shops until 9:00 p.m.; food court until 8:30 p.m.; Sky Costanera until 8:00 p.m. and restaurants and Mirador Costanera during normal hours.
• Wednesday 18: Jumbo, Easy, local, food court and Sky Costanera closed. The cinema is open until 1:00 am and the restaurants and Mirador Costanera until 7:00 pm.
• Thursday 19: Jumbo, Easy, shops, businesses and food court closed. The cinema is open until 01:00; restaurants and Costanera viewpoint until 19:00 and Sky Costanera until 21:00.
• Friday 20: usual hours.

Shopping center square
