Gusts up to 70 km/h: 5 regions with wind warning for Wednesday

The Chilean Meteorological Directorate is currently maintaining two warnings which reflect the situation over the next few hours.

For this week, the arrival of a new front system is expected, which will be accompanied by winds THE which will be presented nationally in the coming hours.

In this regard, the Chile Meteorological Directorate maintains two opinions in progress which indicate the said forecasts, which apply to the day of Wednesday.

Regions with wind warnings

The meteorology indicates that the following regions of the country remain with wind warning in a normal to moderate level, associated with the state of a frontal system .

The information covers the following regions, during the day of Wednesday October 16.

  • Ñuble region on the coast, between morning and evening.
  • Biobio region on the coast, coastal mountain range, valley, foothills and mountain ranges, between morning and night.
  • Araucania region on the coast, coastal mountain range, valley, foothills and mountain ranges, between afternoon and night.
  • Los Rios region on the coast, coastal mountain range, valley, foothills and mountain ranges, between afternoon and night.
  • Lakes Region on the coast and the coastal mountain range, between afternoon and night.

Weather in the south

Check the weather forecast from the Chilean Meteorological Directorate for the southern zone, affected by Wednesday’s wind warning.

  • Chillan : between 7°C and 18°C, with overcast skies and wind reaching 40 km/h.
  • Design : temperatures between 9°C and 15°C, with overcast skies, wind up to 60 km/h and showers from the afternoon.
  • Temuco : extremes of 8°C and 16°C, with overcast skies and light rain since the afternoon, accompanied by winds of up to 60 km/h.
  • Valdivia : between 7°C and 14°C, cloudy in the morning and covered with light rain and wind with gusts of up to 70 km/h since the afternoon.
  • Puerto Montt : between 6°C and 13°C, cloudy in the morning, covered with light rain and wind up to 50 km/h.
