FC Porto came from behind to beat Casa Pia 4-1 in the Primeira Liga, with Poland defender Jakub Kiwior scoring the visitors' second goal and setting up their third in a dominant second-half display.
Casa Pia, one of the division's weakest sides this season, had taken a shock lead in the 43rd minute. Rosario, attempting to clear the ball out of the Porto penalty area, caught a Casa Pia player, and the referee awarded a penalty, which Araujo converted. It was Casa Pia's first goal of the season. Moments later, Kiwior was shown a yellow card for a foul in midfield.
Porto level before the break
Porto equalised just before half-time, capitalising on confusion following a corner kick. Andre Silva forced the ball home from close range, around five metres out, making it 1-1 at the interval, a result that already counted as a surprise given the gap in quality between the two sides.
Casa Pia almost retook the lead in the 58th minute when Clua attempted a shot from around the halfway line, but Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa saved well to keep the score level.
Kiwior turns the match around
Porto went ahead shortly afterwards through Kiwior. The Polish international met a corner kick delivery with a powerful header to make it 2-1.
Kiwior was involved again in the 67th minute, playing a long ball toward Borja Sainz. The pass deflected off the head of a Casa Pia defender before reaching its target, and the Spanish forward finished to put Porto 3-1 ahead, all but sealing the win.
Casa Pia pushed for a way back into the match in the closing stages, but Porto controlled the remainder of the game. In the 90th minute, Porto won a penalty of their own after a foul by the Casa Pia goalkeeper. Santiago Gimenez converted the spot kick to make it 4-1, the final score.
Porto stay top, Casa Pia stay bottom
The result strengthened Porto's position at the top of the Primeira Liga table. Porto, Portugal's reigning champions, have won the European Cup twice, in 1987 and 2004.
Casa Pia, based in Lisbon, remain the worst-placed team in the league. The defeat left them with just one point from six matches this season, following results that included a 0-7 loss to Benfica and defeats to Maritimo, Gil Vicente and Moreirense.
