Germany midfielder Jamal Musiala appeared to faint on the pitch during Bayern Munich's pre-season friendly victory over RB Leipzig in extreme heat.
The 23-year-old had come on as a substitute in the 69th minute and scored to put Bayern 3-1 ahead in the 81st minute. Just two minutes later, he appeared dazed and confused before collapsing into the arms of new team-mate Ismael Saibari.
Saibari, the Morocco international, lowered Musiala to the ground as medical staff rushed onto the field while concerned Bayern players surrounded their team-mate. Amid a hush across the crowd, the medical team eventually gave a thumbs-up signal, with reports in Germany suggesting the player had struggled in temperatures reaching 33 degrees Celsius.

Medical updates and post-match reaction
Musiala had to leave the field of play soon after the incident. Following the match, Bayern Munich director of sport Max Eberl offered a reassuring update on the midfielder's condition, stating: "He is fine, and that is the most important thing."
Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer expressed support for his team-mate following the scare. "It will become clear what it was," Neuer said after the game. "But of course we are keeping our fingers crossed."
New footage that emerged after the match showed Musiala looking uncomfortable shortly after scoring his goal, two minutes before he collapsed. The collapse comes amid ongoing debate surrounding hydration breaks, which were held regularly during the World Cup.
