João Pedro Scores Twice as Chelsea Rout Milan 3-0

Chelsea beat Milan 3-0 in a friendly played on Saturday morning in Jakarta, Indonesia. Brazilian forward João Pedro, who was left out of Brazil's last World Cup squad, scored twice, while midfielder Moisés Caicedo added the third goal for the English side.

João Pedro, who wears number 20 for Chelsea, took part in the full cycle leading up to the World Cup but was not called up, a decision that drew significant attention at the time. The 24-year-old forward is now looking to win back his place in the Brazil national team.

Path back to the national team

A chance for a return could come soon, with Brazil set to play two friendlies against Australia next month. Coach Carlo Ancelotti's squad announcement for those matches is expected in the coming weeks.

Estêvão also chasing a return

Another Brazilian talent who missed the last World Cup and hopes to return to the national team is 19-year-old Estêvão. He is recovering from a serious grade 4 injury to the biceps femoris in his right thigh, sustained in April, and made his appearance in the second half of the friendly against Milan, coming on in the 40th minute.

Upcoming fixtures

Chelsea have no rest and return to action on Sunday against Johor FC, kicking off at 9 a.m. Brasília time at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia. Milan will not play again until next Saturday, when they face Manchester United at 11:45 a.m. Brasília time at Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Poland.
