Mudryk: Our advantage is that we will play in front of our fans

The winger said Iceland is a tougher opponent than Bosnia and Herzegovina

Midfielder Ukrainian national team Mikhail Mudrik spoke about the future opponent of the blue-yellows in the final match of the playoffs of the Euro 2024 qualification – the Icelandic team.

“Iceland will be stronger than Bosnia. Especially in the way they play football. They are more technical and can play balls. It will be more difficult against this opponent. Our advantage is that we will play in front of our fans,” Mudryk said.

23-year-old Mudryk played 17 matches for the Ukrainian national team, in which he scored one goal.

Earlier, the blue-yellow team’s bid for the decisive playoff match for Euro 2024 became known. The team included winger Viktor Tsygankov, who missed the previous match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ukraine’s nominally “home” match with Iceland will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, on March 26. The meeting starts at 21:45 Kyiv time. The match will be judged by a French team of referees led by Clement Turpin. The winner of the confrontation will advance to the 2024 European Championship, where they will play in Quartet E with Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.

Euro 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. The matches of the European Championship will be held in arenas in Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
