The Ukrainian is seriously considering leaving Real Madrid this offseason
Son Carlo Anchelotti — Davidewho is his assistant in Madrid Realeaddressed the Ukrainian goalkeeper Blancos to Andrey Lunin after one of the last training sessions.
“I go home knowing that you give it your all in every practice, every game… No matter what you decide, you will always have our love, support and affection.”
Today it became known that Liverpool are interested in Lunin.
Blancos still expect Andrey to extend his contract with the club until 2029. Otherwise, the Ukrainian has options to transfer this summer or leave as a free agent in a year.
Lunin himself does not want to extend the current agreement. His decision was influenced by Courtois’s appearance in the starting lineup for the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund (2:0), when the Belgian had just recovered from a long-term injury.
In April, it was reported that Manchester United, Bayern Munich and PSG had made offers to Lunin (the Parisians were allegedly ready to pay 18 million euros for the goalkeeper). It was reported that Chelsea planned to pay 12 million euros for Lunin and bring Kepa Arrizabalaga back to the Madrid club.
Representatives of Atletico, Betis, Juventus, Aston Villa, Arsenal and Newcastle also contacted Real. The latter two were reportedly ready to pay 25 million euros for the Ukrainian. Manchester City is also considering the Ukrainian as an alternative to Ederson.
Recently, information emerged that the Ukrainian will hold a repeat meeting with representatives of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund to sort out employment offers. Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nasr and Al-Ittihad allegedly showed interest in Lunin. However, according to Sport Arena, Andrey is not interested in moving to Saudi Arabia.
Real Madrid became the champion of Spain and the winner of the Champions League at the end of the season. In the first round of the new Primera, Carlo Ancelotti’s team will play Mallorca.
