Tragedy in French rugby: he jumped into the river during his team’s celebration and died

The star of the unfortunate incident was Kelly Meafua, a Samoan player for Montauban in the French second division.

Rugby is mourning. Kelly Meafuaa 32 -year -old Samoan player for Montauban in France’s second division, died this weekend after jumping from a 22 -meter bridge into the Tarn River in celebration of his team’s 48-40 victory over Narbonne.

According to reports, the tragic incident occurred during Saturday morningoutside a nightclub they attended as part of the celebration. Firefighters were able to rescue player Christopher Vaotoa (he was found on the shore in an acute state of hypothermia)to jump to try to save Meafua. Unfortunately, the corpse of the latter was found two hours later.

In addition, a witness testified for the newspaper La Depeche who was able to prevent the third drunk man from jumping as well. now, the case is awaiting autopsy to determine the possible causes of Kelly Meafua’s death.
