The Pumas 7s lost to Ireland and will play in the quarterfinals against Samoa

The Argentine rugby sevens team defeated Kenya, but lost to the Irish and will have a very tough quarterfinal clash.

The Argentine sevens team, Cougars 7sbeat this morning Kenya 26-7 and lost to Ireland 21-17, finished second in Group D of the Hong Kong tournament, which kicks off the 2022/23 World Rugby circuit, and in the quarterfinals they will play against Samoa.

The match against the Samoans will take place at 0:25 tomorrow, while the remaining quarterfinal matches will be played by France-United States, Fiji-South Africa and Australia-Ireland.

Argentina debuted in the win over Canada 36-0 and continued his participation beating Kania 26-7 with tries from Rodrigo Isgro, Agustín Frega, Luciano González and Matías Osadczuk, adding to two conversions by Tobías Wade and one by González.

In the third group game, Santiago Gómez Cora’s team fell to Ireland 21-17. For Los Pumas, Tomas Lizazu (2) and Isgro scored tries, with Wade converting.

In this way the Irish won the group as they also defeated Kenya 28-12 and Canada 19-17, the official World Rugby site reported.

In their last performance, on September 10, Los Pumas 7s lost in the quarterfinals against two-time world champions, New Zealand, 12 to 5, for the World Cup held in Cape Town, South Africa.

The second phase of the Circuit, which will have 11 in the male category and 7 in the female category, will take place in Dubai on December 2 and 3.
