The new rules for the Rugby Championship will affect Los Pumas

A few days before the start of the tournament in which Argentina’s National Team will participate, a change in the regulations became known: the 20-minute red card.

The Argentina Rugby Team, The Cougarsis in the final stages of preparation for Rugby Championship. where measured by powers of New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. A few days before the start of the tournament, a change in the regulation was made known: the red card of 20 minutes was added.

To avoid that during a large part of the match there is a numerical inferiority, and keep as long as possible 15 vs. fifteen, the four unions that make up SANZAAR have given their support to change the rule, indicating that each player who receives a red card will leave his team with one player less than twenty minutes, but when fulfilled may be replaced by another teammate, even if he has left the field of play.

“This is a big decision for the Rugby Championship and follows its application to Super Rugby. All SANZAAR national unions (Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa) are fully behind the move.”Brendan Morris confirmed. “SANZAAR believes that the 20-minute red card provides a significant deterrent to deliberate acts of foul play while protecting fans who want to watch 15v15 matches,” he added.
