Sporting CP have officially completed the signing of 23-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper Kaique from Palmeiras to strengthen their squad.
Kaique arrives at Alvalade as a direct replacement for João Virgínia, who has transferred to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. The goalkeeper brings prior experience in Portuguese football, having completed loan spells with Farense and Nacional.
Contract details and release clause
Sporting have tied the shot-stopper to a long-term contract running through 2031. The deal is protected by an 80 million euro release clause.
Kaique is set to compete with Rui Silva for the starting position in goal. However, he will require time to build up match sharpness after spending a period without playing regular first-team football at Palmeiras.

Speaking at his official presentation, Kaique promised that dedication and effort would not be lacking. He said supporters could expect the best possible commitment as he arrived determined to contribute and help the team.
The Brazilian explained that wearing the Sporting shirt was a special moment in his life, describing the Lisbon side as a great club with a rich history. He expressed great happiness at joining and pledged to make the most of the opportunity by giving his maximum.
Following his initial training session with his new team-mates, Kaique expressed confidence about settling into the club. He noted that first impressions were positive and praised the working environment as very good and united.
