Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua sign deal for November fight

British heavyweight boxers Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have signed a contract to face each other in a landmark bout in New York on November 20, according to a report by Daily Mail Sport. The long-awaited matchup between the two rivals comes after years of protracted negotiations.

Madison Square Garden in Manhattan has emerged as the leading candidate to host the event. Organisers completed key contractual negotiations early this week, leaving the final venue selection as the remaining detail. The fight is set for a Friday to avoid scheduling conflicts with major American sporting events and to draw the largest possible viewing audience in the United States.

Promoters originally considered staging the contest in Great Britain, but financial terms meant that plan could not be realised, leading organisers to select New York instead. Madison Square Garden is already familiar to Joshua, who suffered the first defeat of his professional career at the venue in June 2019 when he lost to Andy Ruiz Jr.

Fight announcement and fighter records

An official announcement of the bout is planned before the end of August, with a promotional launch expected to take place at a prominent British venue. In a video shared on his social media page, Fury told followers that major news would arrive very soon. He said a big fight was on the horizon, describing it as the showdown that fans have been waiting for.

If the date and location are formally confirmed, the clash will mark the first head-to-head ring meeting between the two British heavyweights. Fury enters the matchup with a professional record of 36 wins, two losses, and one draw, with 25 knockouts. Joshua holds a record of 30 victories and four defeats, with 27 knockouts.

Usyk backs Joshua to win

The fight news follows recent comments from Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Usyk, as reported by news agency UNIAN. Usyk praised Joshua following his victory over Albanian fighter Kristian Prenga, stating that Joshua would go on to become the next undisputed champion.

Usyk expressed confidence that Joshua would easily defeat Fury in their upcoming bout. Directing his comments at Fury, Usyk told him to get out of the way, calling him a greedy belly and predicting that Joshua would win the contest by knockout.
