Sprint won by Anastasia Merkushina
Coach of the women’s national team of Ukraine Alexander Kravchenko told on the reasons for the absence of several leading biathletes at the Ukrainian Summer Biathlon Championship in Syanki.
“This composition turned out because there were problems. We thought and planned that the whole team would be in Syanki. But Elena’s [Билосюк] in Obertillach, ten days before the end of the camp, problems with the knee began. Now she is sorting out at home what happened to her, so she did not come here.
“As for Vali [Семеренко], [у меня] information from [Игоря] Yashchenko, she works in team B. Yes, she fell ill here at the training camp, she is also being treated. Because there were very unfavorable weather conditions here, it was raining all the time – I think that made me sick.”
“[Юлия] Jima stayed in Europe, she didn’t come here. With Ira [Петренко] Now we are resolving the issue: she has an exacerbation of the disease, which has been dragging on since last year. We decided that it would be better for her to recover, so that she would be in a normal condition, healthy, and I am counting on her at the next training camp. But we will see what the doctors say and we will decide.”
“As for the performance of Daria [Блашко], then we were together at the last training camp: both the male and female teams. With Sanitra’s team, she did a very voluminous big job, maybe this influenced her course a little. But I really liked the shooting, it worked well at the turn – one miss, maybe.
“As for Nastya [Меркушиной]Ani [Кривонос] and Sasha Merkushina, I can say: I am more or less satisfied with the functional state, but we will sort out what didn’t work out for Anya and Sasha with shooting. We briefly analyzed the shooting, and we will think in more detail at the training camp.”
Recall that Anastasia Merkushina won the sprint at the Ukrainian Summer Biathlon Championship.
On September 27, the final competition will take place – the pursuit race. The tournament will be held in an abbreviated two-day format.
