The International Skating Union (ISU) has confirmed the allocation of preliminary quotas to Russian and Belarusian athletes for the 2023 European Speed Skating Championships.
According to a published document on the USI website it follows that Russia has the right to enter three participants in the sprint all-around (2 women, 1 man) and five athletes in the classic all-around (3 women, 2 men).
At the same time, a reservation is made that “until further notice” athletes representing the federations of Russia and Belarus cannot participate in international competitions under the auspices of the ISU.
The European Championship will take place from January 6 to 8, 2023 in Hamar (Norway).
