Note that Hallenbarter began his sports career in cross-country skiing, after which in 2002 he decided to switch to biathlon. The Swiss have participated in three Olympics (2006, 2010, 2014) and eight world championships.
However, the athlete in this sport will not achieve much success. His best in the World Cup was 25th place in the 2007/2008 season. Simon failed to reach the podium at least in one of the stages of his career.
He ended his professional career on March 20, 2014 in the sprint race in Holmenkolen, finishing 93rd.
