Junior Short Track World Championship winner Sofya Boitsova believes that when she is suspended from international competitions, it remains to focus on the training process and hope for the best, while internal competition will help preserve the component tactical.
The International Skating Union (ISU), in the context of the situation with Ukraine, suspended Russian athletes from departures under its auspices.
– Personally, I had no motivation problem, we can only train and hope for the best, good news from our management, from the international federation. The first start of the season was a good training. We will be more or less fit for the Russian championship,” Boitsova told a press conference at ‘s press center.
– In training, we work out the tactical component, invite the coach, we go through fragments of international competitions. Well, if we talk about me, I’m a sprinter – 500m is tactically easier to run than 1000 and 1500m. There is enough competition and overtaking. On the international scene there are different feelings, maybe a bit of speed and different competition, but I think we won’t lose anything by the time this situation with international departures is resolved,” added Boitsova.
