“From next year we will start to practice joint training with skiers more often” – Shashilov

Head Coach Russian team biathlon Mikhail Shachilov says that starting next year, joint training with Russian team cross-country skiing will take place more often.

A joint group training session of the Russian national teams led by Artyom Istomin (biathlon) and Yegor Sorin (cross-country skiing) took place in Sochi on October 13. The training took place in the format of the ascent, that is, a constant ascent on roller skis.

– If we work together, with you, create in some way, I think the athletes will understand that. It is clear that now is such a time, a little vague, there are many problems and blessings, but when a coach communicates with coaches and representatives of different sports, it reminds me of the times of the USSR, when everyone gathered at the table and exchanged everything. It was the country. From next year, we will start practicing more often. You just have to find the time,” Shashilov said in a “Skiers vs. Biathletes” special on the channel.

Head coach of the Russian national cross-country team Yuri Borodavko also highlighted the benefits of joint training.

— We share the experience, we are looking for something. Shashilov has new thoughts that we are now harboring,” Borodavko added.
