Russian Snowboard Federation President Denis Tikhomirov told that Russian athletes will try to maintain their level after the International Ski Federation (FIS) decision to extend their suspension.
FIS Council member Mats Aries said on Saturday that the International Ski Federation had extended the suspension of Russian athletes from competitions under its auspices for an indefinite period.
“It doesn’t matter what they think. We here (in Russia) will face and we will organize competitions. Russian athletes will try to maintain their level. I was ready for any decision. In this case, it is right that we perform in Russia,” Tikhomirov told .
In March, the FIS suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competition until the end of the 2021/22 season due to the situation in Ukraine. Later, the federation extended the participation ban to the summer season.
